Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus is the type of bacteria which causes numerous serious diseases which are difficult to treat (for example, sepsis and pneumonia).
MRSA is dangerous for people, because it has strong resistance towards antibiotics (including penicillin), which makes it extremely difficult to neutralize it and cure the person. MRSA developed considerably and managed to survive in the presence of methicillin, what proves that viruses and bacteria can improve their qualities and become even more dangerous with the run of time. The bacterium belongs to hospital acquired infections which are transmitted by the healthcare providers who do not follow the hygienic norms and move from one patient to another increasing the risk of infecting. The most vulnerable types of patients are the ones who have open wounds and weak immune system, so the healthcare providers and all the visitors are obliged to follow the strictest hygienic norms in order to prevent infecting. The first cases of MRSA were registered in the 1990-ies in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, the UK, France, Canada, etc.
