Jong Un Essay:
Kim Jong Un, born January 8, 1983 or 1984, is de facto North Korean supreme leader after his father Kim Jong Il died 17 December 2011. Kim Jong Un is the third son of Kim Jong Il third wife Ko Young Hi, who died in 2004.
Since the end of 2010, Kim Jong Un began to appear in public together with his father, which is why it was perceived as a future successor and as the nation leader. After the death of Kim Jong Il, he was officially declared the “Great Successor.”
Kim Jong Un is the Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the DPRK (since 30 December 2011). He is Daejang in Korean People’s Army, which corresponds to the rank of four-star general.
Kim Jong Un is the third and youngest son of Kim Jong Il (besides still has an older sister, Kim Sul Son). Date of his birth is unknown; a probable birthplace is Pyongyang. His mother Ko Young-hee, who was the third of four wives of Kim Jong Il, was born in Japan to Korean family of professional dancers. According to the official version, she died in 2004 from cancer, but there were rumors that she had been killed. Mother called son The King of the wounded star.
Kim Jr. began training at an elite school, designed for children of the dignitaries of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK). But then he was sent to a private international school (International School of Bern), in the suburb of Bern Muri Bern, Switzerland. Here he studied 1993-1998 under the pseudonym Chol Pak (or Pak Chol), officially, he was registered as the son of a driver of the DPRK embassy in Switzerland. He was always and everywhere accompanied by senior Korean “student.” Former classmates remember that Kim Jr. loved to ski and was interested in basketball and was a big fan of Michael Jordan and Jean Claude Van Dam. According to the school curriculum, Kim Jr. should be fluent in English and German. The school director has determined him as “timid.” At age 15, Kim left school without passing the exam.
There is also a version that in 1999-2000, Kim Jong Un attended the Liebefeld Steinhölzli School in another Bern’s suburb. There he also was not registered under his real name, but as Pak Ying, like son of the DPRK embassy officials. His classmate Portuguese Joao Michaela tells that Kim admitted that he was the son of North Korean ruler, and showed him a picture of him with Kim Jong Il. In both versions, many personal traits of Korean students are the same, but whether it was Kim Jong Un in both cases or whether it was his older brother John Kim Nam remains unclear.
